Shaun’s goal secures United’s win over Valentino
United secured a 2-0 victory against Valentino FC
Luck United kept their hopes of leading the log alive by the end of the season when they secured a convincing 2-0 victory against Valentino FC in the second leg encounter at the Emalahleni Sports Grounds on Sunday.
Tshepo Lamola’s opening goal set them on course to victory with Shaun’s Maribana’s super volley goal in the second half ensuring victory for United – and three points in the bag.
Coach Sakhi Nthite’s men proved to be dominant yet again as they did the previous day in their tiring game the against New Generations the previous day where they emerged 3-1 victorious.
It was Cooper’s grass-cutting and long-range goal that sealed three points away in the 88th minute. Nthite was happy. He said it was an exciting match they had against Valentino.
“The first half was not an easy as Valentino came to us. They wanted the three points by all means. Luckily, we managed to contain them until we got a goal from Tshepo Lamola with fresh legs because he did not play on Saturday.”
“In the second half we continued as we did against New Generations. We attacked that stubborn defence mounted by Valentino until we cracked it and scored a beautiful goal. My player of the moment was Batista Masipa who made sure that no goals were scored at the back. He is our best defender and reminds me of former Orlando Pirates defender, Herald Raphahlela,” said Sakhi.
