Bernelee is top performer for ESP Piranhas

Bernelee Doster was the top performer for the ESP Piranhas team of 7 at the Gauteng Schools Swimming Championships.

This annual event took place at the Hillcrest pool in Pretoria on the first weekend in March. Qualifying times are set to control the number of entries.

Bernelee won six medals, one gold, two silver and three bronze. She chose to swim 10 events, achieving eight personal best times.

Annebel van Wyk and Mikayla Pon raced into second and third place in the 200m backstroke, collecting the silver and bronze for their efforts.

Mikayla qualified to swim 12 events, swimming nine personal best times. Annebel swam 10 events, won one silver medal and achieved four personal best times.

Tambai Dutiro won a bronze in the 200m backstroke event. He swam four events with one personal best time.

Zimasa Ngqawana took part in three events with two personal best times, while Clayton Malaza swam one personal best time in his five events.

Oyama Malaza injured his shoulder in a water polo match, however, did swim one event finishing with one personal best time.
