Inter Milan are Top 8 champions

For the final, Inter Milan FC is set to go up against the Ivory Park Extension Seven team

Inter Milan FC emerged victorious in a Top 8 tournament at Phomolong Sport Centre on March 31.

Coach for Inter Milan FC Frans Tsibi said it was their first time playing in the tournament.

“Our first game was on March 30 against PMG Boys, which is Phomolong’s home team.

“We won on penalties after drawing 1-1,” said Tsibi.

He said the match on March 31 was the semi-finals and Inter Milan FC played against Classic FC from Mayibuye, who they beat 3-2.

“For the final, Inter Milan FC is set to go up against the Ivory Park Extension Seven team.

“This was the only team against who we had a tough game because they had experienced players who play in big tournaments like the Powerico Winter Games,” Tsibi said.

He said Inter Milan FC’s strategy in the final was to make quick counter attacks, and within five minutes, Inter Milan FC scored a goal.

“After scoring the first goal we had to absorb pressure and some of our players were suffering from muscle spasms. I made no substitute in the first half of the game. Our first goal was scored by Sphamandla and the opponents equalised,” said Tsibi.

At half-time, the score was 1-1. In the second half, Daka scored the second goal for Inter Milan FC. When the final whistle blew the score was 2-1 in favour of Inter Milan FC.

Tsibi said he is happy with the tournament’s results and was not bothered about the limps a few of his players sustained.

He said he was coming back to defend Inter Milan FC’s championship title.

“Thank you very much to the organisers and for keeping us off the streets,” said Tsibi.
