The Lions of the North will entertain Baroka FC at the Makhulong Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 3.30pm.
Baroka are coming to this encounter full of confidence following their 2 – 1 victory against Maritzburg United this past Sunday.
The relegation bound, Baroka FC, are currently on position 13 with 17 points and a win could see them climbing the ladder to 20 points.
The home team, Highlands Park, on the other hand, desperately need a win not just for their supporters but to improve their log standing, as they are currently sited on position 11 with 23 points.
They cannot afford to drop anymore points because there’s currently a six-point difference between them and the bottom of the log team, AmaZulu FC, who are trailing with 17 points.
Highlands Park spokesperson Sibonelo Ngidi is aware of this predicament and believes that his team will soon turn the table and start winning again.
“We are coming from a dry spell but seeing the team at training, you can tell that the boys are hungry for success. “They are ready to do and die for the team. I am convinced that we will soon be back to our winning ways and our supporters will be happy,” said Ngidi.
Since the beginning of the new year, Highlands Park have been struggling to grind results, as they have lost three of their four opening games.
They only salvaged three points at the hands of Black Leopards on January 5.
They lost to Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC.
“A win at home would do so many wonders for the team and for the supporters as well. They deserve some positive results after the dry spell we have been experiencing. But, we are going to need all the ammunition and support we can get so that the boys can regain their confidence. Let us all go out in full force and cheer the boys on,” appealed Ngidi.
