Local kickboxer takes third place at world championships

Throughout the year she was crowned African champion, Ekurhuleni champion, Gauteng champion and National champion all before her trip abroad.

Xtreme Kickboxing Kempton Park student Michaela Anne Green recently participated in the WAKO World Championships.

To prepare for the gruelling competition in Italy, Michaela, a learner from Van Riebeeck Park Primary, had to put aside some other sports.

Blood, sweat and tears were part of the training which she underwent with assistant coach Michael Lovemore.
The 11-year-old persevered through it all and gave her everything.

Throughout the year she was crowned African champion, Ekurhuleni champion, Gauteng champion and National champion, all before her trip abroad.

Michaela returned from the world championships with a bronze medal.
