Speaking at the opening, principal Francois de Kock said the opening of the field was the realisation of a dream for all those involved.

The first match to be played was between the school’s first boys and girls hockey teams.

“Countless people worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this dream a reality.”

He added that the idea for the hockey field was something which was four years in the making.

Principal Francois de Kock and Len Ludick cut the ribbon to officially open the field.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the school’s first boys and girls hockey teams faced each other in the inaugural match.
