Avion’s U8s took on Etwatwa at Kingham.
Etwatwa won the toss and chose to field first. Avion racked up 104/7 in 20 overs.
Etwatwa replied with a nail-biting 105/2 in 19.4 overs.
Krige was the bowler of the match for Avion, taking 2/10. The top scorers were Jopshua (18), Matthews (15 not out) and John (not out on 11).
Avion CC U8 side was next up in their match against Midrand. Avion won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 112/5 in 20 overs.
Midrand replied with 76/7 in 20 overs.
Avion’s best bowler was Handré Cronje who took 2/3s in two overs. Juandré van Rensburg scored 32 off 23 deliveries and Rueben Senekal walked away with the best fielder title.
The U12 Avion side faced Springs Old Boys in Rhodesfield.
Avion won the toss and batted first, scoring 132/9 in 25 overs. In reply, Old Boys scored 113 all out in the 23rd over.
The best bowlers were Conor Sheehan who took 2/9 in three overs and Aiden Pretorius who took 4/15 in three overs.
Rikardo Wills was the top batsman with 22 runs off 21 deliveries.
Avion’s U10 Kingham side took on Alberton in Brentwood Park.
Alberton batted first and scored 175/3 in 25 overs. Avion replied with 121/8 in 25 overs.
The Avion U14 side went up against Duduza at Kempton Hoërskool.
Avion batted first and reached 112 all out in 19 overs. Duduza replied with 111 all out in 18 overs to give Avion a two-run win.
Tertius Goosen took two wickets and conceded 12 runs in three overs while Marais Bruwer walked away with two wickets for seven runs in three overs.
Jaimi Coertse was the day’s top batman with 30 runs.
