Kempton Park resident and professional wrestler, Hector Payne, is on the hunt for another championship reign.

Payne will compete in a triple threat number one contender’s match against Matthew Hammer and long-time rival Steve Eden at the Bloem Show on May 7 and 8.

The winner will have to opportunity to face the current HWA Heavyweight Champion, Mr Money, for the title.

Payne returned to in-ring action in February this year after a seven month hiatus.

“2022 was probably my worst year, dealing with personal and health issues and after losing my HWA South Africa Championship and just had to take some time off.

“I now have my retirement plans in the back of my head but first I have a bucket list to go through and one of the most important if not the most important on that list is having another title run.

“I am still dealing with some health issues but even at 50% I can still go toe- to-toe with the best talent in the county” he said.

Since his return the former SAPW Hardcore, HWA South African and two time HWA Heavyweight Champion, has managed to victories against Joshua The Bull From Durban and East rand local JDX.
