Members of Dojo Kempton Park compete in nationals
The Gauteng Region won, with Western Cape coming second.
Dojo Kempton Park competed in the New World Shotokan Karate National Championships on August 5 at Brakpan.
Karatekas from Cape Town, Boland, Upington, Nelspruit, White River, Hazyview, The Vaal, Witbank, Benoni, and Boksburg attended the first national event since May 2019.

According to the instructor, sensei Janien Potgieter, it was great to have this national competition return after the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It was a difficult day for the karatekas to compete because there were 100 participants overall,” said Potgieter.
