KPCC hosts fun cricket event

In the Directors League, KPCC hosted a cancer awareness match in solidarity with club members fighting cancer.

The Kempton Park Cricket Club faced a challenging weekend on the field with several of the key games in the league called off due to inclement weather.

In the first game of the weekend, the U10 Sibali side faced Thokoza and won by three wickets.

Thokoza batted first and made 135/7.

KPCC bowler Matthew Fereira took 2/7.

In response, players reached the target in the 21st over for the loss of six wickets. Matthew also contributed with the bat, scoring 28 from 13 deliveries not out.

In the Directors League, KPCC hosted a cancer awareness match.

Next up, the U12 Impala Blue side battled Benoni and lost by three wickets.

The U10 Kingham side lost their match by 43 runs.

In the Directors League, KPCC hosted a cancer awareness match in solidarity with club members fighting cancer.

Bakerton played Kempton Park, scoring 234 all out in 45.2 overs. Griffin Smith took 2/30 in four overs. He also took two catches.

The KPCC Pink Day was attended by one of the club’s cancer survivors Morne van Eden.

Kempton replied with Smith taking the lead once again to score 45 and help Kempton to 235/9.

Then the Kempton Park Colts took on Bedfordview.

Kempton bowled Bedfordview out for 89 in 22 overs with Logan van Niekerk taking 3/5 in four overs.

In the first game of the weekend the U10 Sibali side faced Thokoza and won by three wickets.

Anthony Stockit with 41 runs and Sanjay Prassana with 20 runs helped Kempton to a 10-wicket win.

The Kempton Premier side faced Midrand and won by 192 runs with JJ Havenga making 52 and Zadian Muller taking 4/4 in three overs.
