Kempton-born Akani Simbine and the South African 4x100m relay team secured a silver medal in the men’s relay final this evening, August 9.

Canada won the race in a time of 37.50 while South Africa finished in a time of 37.57.

Rounding up the medal table was Great Britain in a time of 37.61
