Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf: Vermaak tops August leaderboard

Lezette Vermaak took first place at the Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf tournament at Modderfontein on August 11, finishing one point ahead of Jax di Nicola. Peachy Swarts came third, with several players also winning nearest-the-pin and raffle prizes.

Lezette Vermaak walked away with top honours at this month’s Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf (ESWG) monthly tournament at the Modderfontein Golf Club on August 11.

Vermaak scored 36 points to win the competition, beating Jax di Nicola, who finished as the runner-up on 35 points. Peachy Swarts rounded up the podium with 30 points.

Lynda Smit finished fourth on 30 points (counted in), with Leslie Nienaber and Colleen Pike fifth and sixth, respectively.

Meanwhile, Cassandra Durman and Phindi Mokaba won last month’s round at the Kempton Park Golf Club.

The pair scored 47 points, beating runners-up Hilde Meyer and Ensor-Smith, who finished second with 45 points.
Lynda Joynt and Helen Bapela were third with 43 points.
