Join the Hollard Daredevil Run to fight prostate and testicular cancer
The iconic 16th Daredevil Run returns, encouraging men nationwide to run in Speedos and support cancer awareness, screenings, and early detection.
With the bold tagline “Make your ballsiest move yet,” the Hollard Daredevil Run is back on October 31, encouraging men to tackle prostate and testicular cancer in a fun and daring way.
Participants run 5km wearing nothing but a purple Speedo, sparking conversation, challenging stigmas, and promoting early testing and detection.
The official launch of the 2025 event took place at Hollard Campus in Parktown, Johannesburg, where funds raised from the 2024 run were handed over to partners in the fight against male cancers, the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The 2024 event raised approximately R780 000, which Hollard has topped up to R1 million to increase awareness and access to essential screenings, especially in underserved areas.
Sport is in our blood in South Africa,” said Hazel Chimhandamba, Hollard group chief marketing officer.
“If we are that passionate about sport, we should be equally passionate about our health. The Hollard Daredevil Run raises awareness in a fun, engaging, and non-threatening way, sparking conversations about men’s health and early detection.”
Now in its sixteenth year, the Daredevil Run features a main event at Zoo Lake, Johannesburg, as well as smaller runs in schools, universities, and neighbourhoods nationwide.
Prostate cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in South African men, with 1 in 15 men diagnosed, and 1 in 4 Black men versus 1 in 8 white men expected to face the disease in their lifetime.

Testicular cancer, although less common, is the most prevalent cancer in young men aged 15 to 35.
A simple one-minute shower self-examination can detect early signs, which significantly increases treatability.
The main Zoo Lake run starts at 15:00, and participants across the country can join individually or in groups with friends, family, or colleagues.
Registration opened on August 13 via Ticketpro at R180, which includes courier delivery of a registration pack and a complimentary purple Speedo.
