He was selected during the Junior Kwagga Sport Week based on his performance throughout the tournament.
The tour will expose Strydom to professional coaching, matches against international teams and visits to iconic destinations.
Strydom’s dedication and passion for rugby continue to grow, with the young player drawing inspiration from Cheslin Kolbe and aspiring to become a professional rugby player in future.
“This opportunity means a lot to me. I am really excited to meet new people and learn many new skills,” said Strydom.
Alongside his family, his Hoërskool Kempton Park coach, Marius Grové, has been one of his biggest supporters throughout his rugby journey.
Strydom expressed gratitude towards his coach for helping him improve his confidence and performance on the field, and for believing in him even when he doubted himself.

“The financial side is challenging for us alone, which is why we are asking for support. Any support, big or small, will make a difference,” she said.
She added that the opportunity will not only shape Eugene as a rugby player, but also as a young man. The family is seeking financial support and sponsorships to help fund the tour.
