Entries open for 2026 Thembisa Mile and 10km Road Race

Online entries are now open for the 2026 Thembisa Mile and 10km Road Race, with official race T-shirts available for purchase and only 5,000 places on offer.

Excitement is building for the 2026 Thembisa Mile and 10km Road Race, with participants now able to purchase the official race T-shirts when registering online.

The official Thembisa Mile T-shirts are available for purchase at R150, excluding the online service fee charged by the service provider.

Entries for the Thembisa Mile, presented by Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital, are available online on a first-come, first-served basis and will close at midnight on Wednesday, October 21, or once the maximum race capacity has been reached.

The race will accommodate a total of 5 000 participants, with 4 200 entries available for the 10km road race and 800 places allocated for the 1 Mile Road Race.

The 10km entry fee is R150 for ASA-licensed athletes, while unlicensed athletes will pay an additional R60 for a temporary licence. For the 1 Mile Race, ASA-licensed athletes will pay R50, with unlicensed participants paying an additional R30 for a temporary licence.

Participation in the Elite Mile remains by invitation only.

Participants will be able to collect their race numbers at the race expo, which will take place from October 22 to 25 at the race venue.

The race will take place on Sunday, October 25, with the start and finish venue at Olifantsfontein Sports Ground. The event will begin at 07:00.
