Entries open for Thembisa Mile and 10km road race
Runners can now enter the 2026 Thembisa Mile and 10km road race, which will take place in Olifantsfontein on October 25.
Entries are now open for Thembisa Mile presented by Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital, incorporating a 10km road race, which will take place on Sunday, October 25.
The event, which includes a street Mile (1,609m) and a mass participation 10km race, will start and finish at the Olifantsfontein Sports Ground in Olifantsfontein.
Entries can be completed online at www.thembisamile.co.za or www.peaktiming.co.za and will close at midnight on Wednesday, October 21, or once the maximum capacity of 5000 participants has been reached.

The event will accommodate 4200 runners in the 10km race and 800 athletes in the mile race.
The 10km entry fee is R150 for ASA-licensed athletes, while unlicensed athletes will pay an additional R60 for a temporary licence.
The one Mile race costs R50 for licensed athletes, with unlicensed participants paying an additional R30 for a temporary licence.
Race T-shirts are available for purchase during online registration at R150 each. Entry fees exclude online service charges.
Participation in the Elite Mile is by invitation only.
Race numbers will be available for collection at the official race expo, which will take place from October 22 to 25 at the race venue.

A total prize purse of R121 500 has been confirmed for elite athletes. The men’s and women’s 10km winners will each receive R10 000, while the invited Mile winners will each take home R4 000.
All finishers will receive bronze medals, while category winners will be awarded gold medals.
The scenic 10km route will take runners through the industrial precinct of Olifantsfontein towards Hospital View and back to the sports ground, while the Mile route will consist of a loop around the venue.
The event is supported by Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital, SPAR North Rand, the City of Ekurhuleni Sports and Recreation Division, Switch Energy, PRMG Equipment Rental, The Thembisan, Central Gauteng Athletics and Thembisa Athletics Club.
