Bonsai open day in Boksburg
Various other talks will take place throughout the day

KIERIEKLAPPER Bonsai Kai will host an open day in Boksburg on March 29.
Indigenous trees that will be discussed are, among others, Kierieklapper (Combretum hereroense), Nyala (Xanthocercis zambesiaca), Kruisbessie (Grewia occidentalis), Natal skulpblombos (Bowkeria verticilata), Inheemse Jasmyn (Jasminum multipartitum), Bosbeesklou (Bauhinia tormentosa), Wilde sambreelboom (Karomia speciosa – Holmskoldia tettensis), Swarthaak (Akasia mellifera), Olienhout (Olea Africana), Kannie-dood, Pork Bush, Hardepeer, Kamferboom, Buddleja, Laventelkoorsbessie (Croton gratissimus), Sycomorus fig (Ficus sycomorus), Seepnetel, Wildekamferbos / Wild Camphor Bush (Tarchonanthus camphorates), Crassula, Aloe and Euphorbia.
Registration of trees for judging will start at 8am and the actual judging at 10.30am. At 9.15am Ben Safronovitz will discuss the role of Perlite in a balanced Bonsai growing medium.
Various other talks will take place throughout the day.
The open day will take place at the Dutch Reformed Church, corner of 4th Avenue and 10th Street, Boksburg North.
