Tembisa film maker releases third film project
"I always strive towards successfully completing a film project."
A self-taught Tembisa film maker released his third film project called Neighbours from Hell.
This young man had an innate love for cameras as a child and that is where it all started.
Mr Kopano Isaac Thajane said it has been a worthwhile journey in the film industry as he has learnt a lot through trial and self determination.
This founder of Bubbling Film Productions lives off this art and it has become a full time career for him.
His first film project called Matlakala enjoyed a year long flight on South African television screens and it encouraged him to do more films.
“In all these movie projects, I featured well known acting talent like Mr Vusi Thanda,” said Mr Thajane.
“When I produced the Matlakala Project I was a novice. I didn’t have technical knowledge and I didn’t have a proper script because I knew nothing about screenwriting software.”
The 36-year-old film entrepreneur is now serious about his business and guarantees professionalism.
He said he has learnt that to be professional one has to conform to the required film standards.
He produced his previous project with no budget and he lacked knowledge about film distribution channels.
“I was merely shooting and hoping for a breakthrough. The lesson I learnt is that when one embarks on a business venture one has to have a thorough understanding of the industry that one is going to operate in,” he said.
He said in Neighbours from Hell he has improved a lot and he has offered a better quality in film production.
“I have improved on picture quality and enhanced it by doing proper lighting and also focused on constructing interesting story lines to provide clear and understandable continuity,” said Mr Thajane.
“I have learnt from other film makers. Learning is crucial, I have learnt to create films that spark interest among budding film makers.”
He said he would like to advise young film makers not to be in the business for quick money and he wants them to understand that there are a lot of sacrifices that go towards making one film.
“I always strive towards successfully completing a film project. That fulfils me even before the film can start to make money. Each time people see my work on television I get requests from young people who want to be part of my projects,” he said.
“That makes me feel like I exist in the film industry space for a purpose
“What keeps me going in business despite all the challenges is the love for film,” he said.
Neighbours from Hell is a story of a Christian family facing challenges and whose Christian beliefs are continuously tested.
When evil befalls the Tsotetsi’s family, prayer is the only answer.
The film premieres on September 23 and that will be the first public viewing at a gala dinner to be held at the Khutsa Fa guest house.
Those who are interested can contact Mr Thajane on 073 849 5135 to book for the viewing.
His previous two successful projects movie projects were also reported about in The Tembisan.
