According to the group spokesperson, Jaytee, they all met with the common interest of love of music and their passion for producing the best talent keeps them going.
“We’ve known each other for years – some from school and others on the street of Winnie Mandela. We are working on various styles of music and we are all capable of writing our own songs, singing and composing. Since we were able to release our first mixtape on social media, we never looked back,” explained Jaytee.
T-Squad is currently working on releasing their new mixtape.
The group records their music at Dream and Hustle studio which is based in Winnie Mandela Park.
When asked how they market their talent, Jaytee said they market themselves on social media, at parties, gigs and other events.
“We are currently working on channelling our talent competing with other local artists in the community. When we are ready to face exceptional performances outside, we will know our challenge. Of course, we aim to enter great musical competitions that expose talent and win big prizes. Overall, we want to become prominent with our talent in the country,” added Jaytee.
Jaytee emphasised that their music is about the things that they are faced with as young people and Kasi lifestyle.
“Today’s generation is faced with so many challenges in life and some are failing to break through. Young people commit suicide or resort to drugs, crime or just wonder the street. Our music encourages young people to not give up in life and stay positive,” said Jaytee.
He said coming from poor family backgrounds should not determine any other person’s future.
“Challenges will always be there but remaining positive will help people to reach their dreams and goals. Young people should refrain from coupling themselves with negative people,” said Jaytee.
T-Squad group is appealing for sponsorship from any Good Samaritan or business people in order to buy music equipment.
