Tembisa launch its first mobile television station
The mobile television boasts a repertoire of content like reality shows, documentaries, street soccer and movies

The need for a TV station in Tembisa keeps on rising as young people lack a platform to showcase their broadcasting skills.
In one of our previous publications, The Tembisan published an article on the youth’s endeavour to set up an online Tembisa based TV station.
Eyam Nawe TV is yet another venture to make Tembisa TV station a reality for local stories to be told by local talent. Tuluntulu mobile application has made it possible for Eyam Nawe TV to share Tembisa’s beautiful tales to the world.
Founder and owner of Eyam Nawe TV, Lindani Mjezu said the television station is the first Tembisa mobile TV channel that is available to every smartphone owner.
“We launched the TV station on August 9 at Ivory Park North Hall. Now we have over 120 movies produced in Tembisa and Ivory Park,” said Mjezu.
He said the mobile television boasts a repertoire of content like reality shows, documentaries, street soccer and movies.
“All of the productions are running their first season. We need more content and we invite all actors, producers and models to contact us. We are more than willing to flight content with local talent”.

Mjezu is a veteran in the arts industry who acquired acting skills at Sibikwa Arts Centre and he started a non-profit organisation immediately after graduating. He said Lindani Theatre Productions has been in the forefront of developing arts talent in Tembisa and Ivory Park.
“Through the production company, I have groomed over 5 000 young people around Tembisa. Today some of my students have become full-time theatre practitioners – some are arts educators and some are professional actors,” said Mjezu.
He said all of the former students are using the skills he imparted to them. Mjezu speaks with pride when he mentions over 300 trophies he won through the Lindani Theatre Productions. Between 2012 and 2013 Mjezu joined the wagon of local movies mass-production to exploit the lucrative broadcasting space.
He produced seven local movies which earned him a revenue of R150 000 and he used the money to produce 10 more movies in a hope to cash in on the demand.
“The 10 movies were rejected by Mzansi Magic and I lost a fortune on the exercise. Consequently, my work was rejected by all public and private broadcasters giving various reasons. Out of resentment, I decided to start my own television station and that was the birth of Eyam Nawe TV. I succeeded in creating a platform to showcase Tembisa talent in telling original local stories,” said Mjezu.
He said the TV channel will create more employment for local residents considering that Eyam Nawe TV was awarded a long contract with the Tuluntulu mobile TV app.
Mjezu said Tuluntulu is a free to download app and it uses 50 megabytes per hour which may equal R10 an hour. He has appealed to Tembisa and Ivory Park residents to download the Tuluntulu mobile TV app and select Eyam Nawe TV icon in support of local talent. Interested producers can contact Mjezu on 082 054 4214.
