Come braai in your black tie

The purpose of the event is to raise funds as well as create awareness for the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) and Child Welfare SA Kempton Park

TWELVE Kempton Park friends have decided to join their love for partying with charity.

And the result? The Black Tie, maar ons gaan Braai event in Kempton Park City Hall on November 17.

The group, who prefers to stay anonymous, has launched the Baby Marrow charity organisation to raise funds for institutions and causes that need help.

This will be their first event.

“Our mission is to be the change we would like to see in the world. By being an example for our community, friends and family, we strive to change the world we live in for the better, one bit at a time,” they said.

“Through ongoing encouragement to the community and by hosting various charitable events, we strive to financially uplift our communities and re-invest in what will one day be all of our futures. We want to be the change, don’t you?”

Black Tie, maar ons gaan Braai is a formal black-tie event that will be classy and elegant, yet infused with the friendliness and camaraderie of a good old-fashioned South African braai. The purpose of the event is to raise funds as well as create awareness for the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) and Child Welfare SA Kempton Park.

All the proceeds raised through this event will be donated to these two institutions.

To add to an already quality evening of wining and dining, renowned South African artist Chris Chameleon will be giving an intimate performance for all patrons on the evening.

Loads of giveaways and auctions will be held throughout the night.

Tickets for the event are R500 a person, which includes a three-course dinner, Chris Chameleon’s performance and the opportunity to take part in an auction.

Companies and/or individuals have the opportunity to sponsor a table for R6 000. This sponsorship will include having a table branded with your company branding as well as two tickets to the event.

Branded items include a tablecloth, chair covers, sandblasted glasses on the table, pull-up banner for display at the event, company logo and contact details on the programme of the evening.

Black Tie, maar ons gaan Braai will start at 6.30pm, with ample parking available.
