You are invited to the Art/Entrepreneur Exhibition
The Art/Entrepreneur Exhibition aims to showcase the various talents and gifts and how they can become successful career paths.
Don’t have plans for June 16?
Koinonia House of Fire Youth Ministry invites you to be part of their first Art/Entrepreneur Exhibition to be held on Youth Day at the Kempton Park Indoor Sports Centre situated on Green Avenue, in Zuurfontein 33-Ir.
The event will be run from 10am to 5pm.
The objective of this event is to give the youth and community members the opportunity to exhibit their gifts and talents and appreciate that they can make a successful living using their gifts and talents.
These gifts are but not limited to the following:
• Music: If you have a talent for music, then this is for you. Event organisers and possible music producers are invited to listen to different melodies and they might find their next star. Choirmasters can also attend and might spot their next lead soloist.
• Dance: The gift of dance offers so much more than having rhythm and moves, the event aims to explore the gift of dance and introduce dancers to different forms of dance and how they can take that gift to the next level. Choreographers are also welcome to share information about dance studious and probably open a dance studio to keep the youth off the street.
• Visual Arts: Visual arts include graphic design, illustration and photography. Art teachers and gallery owners are welcome to educate the youth about the benefits of art as an asset; photographers, book illustrators and graphic designers will make parents and gifted artists aware that visual art can be followed through as a career path.
• Poetry: Poets, public speakers, voice-over artists, writers and the list goes on, where are you? Come and bless the audience with your storytelling, creativity and talent.
• Hospitality: The gift of creating art with food is not really recognised as a form of art. Well, it is time people took note that cooking, baking and the presentation of food is a form of art. Hoteliers, event management companies and other corporates are invited to identify potential in youth and assist with advice on how to become successful in the art of food. Chefs and professional bakers are welcome to share their advice on how to make it in the industry.
• Fashion: The gift of fashion is one that will never die out as people always need clothes to wear, designers are challenged to go beyond the norm and explore the gift inside them to create art with fabric. Their garments will be exhibited through a fashion show. Retail buyers will share with the designers what retailers are looking for in a brand and how to get their clothing line into the retail space. The aim is to empower and give hope and push boundaries to succeed.
• Beauty and Cosmetology: The talent and ability to recreate a person’s appearance through make-up is a form of art that is growing, the art of beauty is not limited to manicure and pedicure only. It has revolved to 3D and stretching the creatives. Massage therapy also forms part of beauty. Through the event, the community will be informed that massage therapy is a career and not associated with promiscuity. Key industry players in beauty are also invited to advise on the different avenues the youth can follow with all these gifts and where to sharpen their gift and how to obtain their qualifications.
“Our hope is that the corporate, hospitality and entertainment world will represent the various sectors and partner with schools that we have invited for internships that will prepare and polish them for the international market,” said Naledi Chitsiku, event co-ordinator.
“We have a number of youth members and home business owners lined-up for the various arts.
“All exhibitors will have to set up their tables. We will create a stage for the singers, poets and dancers to perform; there will also be a drama piece that the youth will present. There will be a fashion show that will showcase the different designers, they will come with their models and we will supply models from our youth if needed.”
Chitsiku also said that the event will be high-spirited and blessed for all in attendance as it is based on biblical principles in highlighting to the youth that there is so much more to life and also the act of making a difference in someone’s life.
