Ladysmith Black Mambazo to rock Germiston stage
The Germiston Theatre will host a music festival for youth and women living with a disability
The Germiston Theatre stage is set to host one of the music industry’s greatest acts to honour youth and women living with a disability.
The internationally acclaimed Ladysmith Black Mambazo, together with the legendary Babsy Mlangeni and Steve Kekana, will set the Germiston Theatre stage on fire and send the audience on a nostalgic musical journey with their greatest hits on August 31.
The festival is to celebrate these icons for their extraordinary talent in the field of arts, embrace the values of the Freedom Charter and reinforce the message that living with a disability is not a barrier to greatness.
A day before the festival on August 30, from 10am to 3pm at the Germiston Theatre, the legends Steve Kekana and Babsy Mlangeni will host music workshops specifically focusing on artists living with disabilities and their challenges in the music industry.
The workshop will provide a platform for youth and women living with disabilities to share ideas with non-disabled people to eradicate stigmas associated with living with a disability.
The event will start at 7pm and tickets are R100 at the door and at Computicket.
