Tembisa-born DJ Sbu is MC at annual music awards
The awards evening will take place at Carnival City on November 24
Carnival City is home to the 2018 Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards (MKHMA) this year.
Fans of the only South African awards show that focuses solely on Kwaito and House are in for a treat at the Big Top Arena on November 24.
Tembisa-born Sibusiso Leope, better known as DJ Sbu, is the host for the evening. DJ Sbu is a South African Kwaito musician, social entrepreneur, club DJ and a former co-owner of one of the biggest, black owned record labels in South Africa.
Performers who will join DJ Sbu on stage include Bazoyenza hit maker, Busiswa, DJ Maphorisa, Mshoza, Spikiri and first time MKHMA nominees, The Triology.
The MKHMAs, as they are affectionately known, not celebrate and honour musicians who have contributed to the growth of the Kwaito and House genres in South Africa, but also serve to showcase and develop upcoming talent.
Four categories have been added for 2018, including the popular Gqom genre, which is a fusion of the Kwaito and House genres. Apart from the nominated musicians, radio personalities could also bag themselves a coveted award at the third annual MKHMAs.
