Mervyn to keep you in stitches

The comedian will perform at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on June 1 at 8pm.

Kemptonians looking for a laugh can head to the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on June 1 at 8pm, where comedian Mervyn Pillay is sure to tickle their funny bone with his impressions and wisecracks.

With his show Mervyn from Durban, the self-proclaimed “proudly South African Durbanite of Indian origin”, hopes to show the audience the funny side of growing up in the coastal KwaZulu-Natal city.

“As a child, I played outside. There were no electronic gadgets to keep us entertained, so we had to entertain ourselves,” Pillay said.

His love for comedy started in those days on the streets of Durban, as well as in the majority of cinemas to choose from. “Cinemas gave me the opportunity to follow my heart as an entertainer,” Pillay explained.

Mervyn from Durban is sure to be a hoot. Tickets are R125 per person and can be booked via Computicket.
