OG Gang warm-up party a success

It was a night of good music and listening to different hip-hop genres at one venue.

The Other Guyz Gang (OG Gang) hosted the OG’s Warm Up Party at Miami Lounge in Ivory Park Extension 15.

The event aimed at giving local artists a platform to showcase their talents. People enjoyed performances by Method R-9, Sleek Tafeni, Vrega Dope, OG Flowz, kingKilo, all OG members, among others.

Tafeni said the OGs are a young collective of creative minds from rappers to DJs, poets, photographers and fashion designers.

“The event was an introduction of OGs, who we are and what we bring to the stage prior to our main event in September,” said Tafeni.

“The performances were crazy. Everyone shot videos throughout the show. We are glad to have seen such support from people who we share the streets with because it takes every one of them to inspire our music,” added Tafeni.

“The main event will be on September 7 with details of time and venue to be confirmed, but entry will cost R20 each. From this event, people should expect nothing but royalty and good music,” said Tafeni.

Method R-9 said it was a night of good music and listening to different hip-hop genres at one venue.

“The plan is to create our own platform where we have our own stylist, photographer, publicist and so on to try and close the gap of financial deficiency up-and-coming artists from townships face,” said Method R-9.

“We are creating something they have not seen before. We learn from and teach each other. We listen to each other’s stories through our music while having fun, making it easy to socialise with and call each other for collaborations,” explains Method R-9.

“People can expect more music on the way as many of us are in studio working on our next projects. Check our social media pages for updates,” said OG Flowz.

“We would love to thank the fans for the support they have shown us, and we look forward to giving them more music,” added Flowz.
