DJ Rabs to share the stage with music and comedy bigwigs
Well-known maestro DJ Rabs Vhafuwi will headline the Gin and Comedy festival taking place on September 7 at the Phomolong Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to this paper, DJ Rabs said he can’t wait to play for his Tembisa-based fans and promised to dish out what he has been cooking up in the studio for the past few months.
“You know, it’s my second time coming to Tembisa and this time around I am holding absolutely nothing back. I always prepare my sets according to how I imagine the event will be and the people that I am going to play for.
“But this time I am bringing everything,” he said.
This disk-spinning genius is scheduled to share the stage with some of the country’s heavyweights, such as Prince Kaybee, DJ Lerato Kganyago, Kabza De Small and top comedian acts such as Mashabela, Salesman and King Flat.

DJ Rabs said his fans and music lovers can expect both new and old material.
“I once made a mistake of not playing one of my hit tracks, Count Your Blessings, at a gig and people were not happy with me. So you can be rest assured, we will be ‘counting our blessings’ on Saturday,” promised DJ Rabs.
According to the organisers, the concept for this festival is to showcase different types of gin brands while being entertained by some of the country’s top acts in the entertainment industry.
“Gin and Comedy festival is an annual social festivity aimed at exhibiting local art, fashion and comedy and appreciating the fine taste of dry gins. It also aims to promote up-and-coming artists, designers and comedians by giving them a platform to showcase their crafts. The festival promises to captivate fans and deliver top-notch entertainment and lessons on how to perfectly mix cocktails using the day’s choice of drink,” said Nontokozo Gxumisa.
Tickets are already selling at Computicket outlets and will also be sold at the gate on Saturday.
