Spirozah releases a new single

Spirozah released a new single about being responsible while having fun.

Mpho Mokonyama (38), also known as “Spirozah”, is a self-taught music producer and artist based in Tembisa. He released his single, Spanyabutla, in July to educate the youth on how to be responsible while having fun.

The artist started his music career back in 2001 as an artist of Outrageous Records Label, alongside H2O, Pebbles and Zubz ‘the last letter’. His music is influenced by the likes of Mdu, Mandoza, Trompies and B.O.P to name a few. He was featured on a music compilation called Rage, where he dropped two singles, Lova and Nuttin.

The musician has also dropped few promo tracks, Emjaivweni and Achu.

Spirozah said he studied popular music at Eastside College, where he was mentored by the likes of Bheki Khoza and Simon Ntuli.

According to Spirozah, the song Spanyabutla serves as an awareness track to tell the nation that as much as people party and socialise a lot, they must remember to always ‘condomise’.

“Let us not use the power of money to use women for our satisfaction. Let us not blame alcohol for unprotected sex, and let us not use fame, beauty and financial wellness to drive relationships. We can have fun without endangering our lives.

“My plan for the future is to do more collaboration with most musicians from Tembisa and create a platform where young up-and-coming artists can learn more about the industry, especially the business side of it,” said Spirozah.
