Soul Affecters plan music concert in February
Soul Affecters to host their musical concert in February.
The Soul Affecters band from Ivory Park are ushering in the new year in the recording studio to bring their fans fresh music in 2020.
The seven-member band will be hosting their first concert at Mahlangu Sports Ground on February 15 to give fans a taste of what they have been cooking up in the studio. The band, which was formed in 2016, recently recorded five songs.
Tshepiso Joseph Motha, one of the founding members, said the band began when he met Phumlani Magosa, who was a friend of Siyabonga Shezi.
“What connected us was the love for music and our abilities. One was able to sing, the other played guitar and so on.
“From 2016 we called on other guys to join us and be one family. From there the name Soul Affecters was chosen and we took the audience by storm. Everything we do now we do as a collective,” said Motha.
The band blends jazz, house and hip-hop music to bring fans Afro-fusion. They perform their original songs as well as cover versions of some of South Africa’s favourite hits. They draw inspiration from the likes of The Muffinz and The Soil.
“Our goal is to release a debut single very soon and introduce a wider market to our sound,” said Motha.
Tickets to the Family, Friends and Lovers concert at Mahlangu Sports Ground on February 15 are available at R40 (general) and R80 (VIP). Gates opens at 3pm. For more details on the concert or for bookings, email soulaffecters@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page at Soul Affecters.
