Sha-Sha performs at Ivory Park event

Mojela says there is a need to expand their venue and to do things differently.

The Manqina Sunday presented a special edition of their programme at the Ivory Park’s Kopanong Sports Ground with Amapiano’s vocalist Sha-Sha headlining the event on Sunday February 2.

The Zimbabwean-born vocalist Charmaine “Sha-Sha” Mapimbiro entertained music lovers, making the Sunday Special Edition a memorable event.

The gorgeous lady left the crowd begging for more as music lovers chanted her name after her performance.

Organiser Tebogo Mojela said the concept of Manqina Sunday has been in existence for a number of years.

“We realised that around the neighbourhood there were no entertaining pubs, so we created this platform to enable the people to relax on Sundays,”said Mojela.

The event has grown in leaps and bounds, with local event organisers Gift Mhlongo, France Ubisi and others from GAS Entertainment, committing to turning Sundays into joyful moments.

“From last year things were hotting up, and we became more vibrant with the organisers using social media to good effect to attract music lovers to our venue, and to support the project. I hosted my birthday last December with Bontle Smith performing,”he said.

Mojela said there was a need to expand their venue and to do things differently.

“We have invited to our events Sha-Sha who has been working with artists like Kabza De Small, Dj Maphorisa, Samthing Soweto and various other national artists.

“The atmosphere has been great and we are happy about the response we are getting,” Mojela said.

Gift Mhlongo co-organiser said the Manqina Sunday provided them with an opportunity to evaluate whether they were growing or not.

“For all the support we have been receiving, we would like to thank all those who made it possible. We have such an amazing crowd at the Ivory Park, and our fan base includes Tembisa, Clayville as well as Kalfontein.

“We promise to deliver the best entertainment in the area. and trust our loyal supporters will keep on supporting us,” said Mhlongo.

The organisers are expected to host the Manqina Sunday Colour Festival Edition on April 12.
