Pacou talks about his career as a professional dancer

Pacou Mutombo (37) is one of the most acclaimed modern dance choreographers in Kempton Park. The Terenure resident is a passionate and dedicated actor, choreographer, dancer and stage director.

His work entails patience, creativity and confidence.

A typical week for the choreographer is packed with meetings, auditions, training, reading and late, late, late nights of planning.

“I started making a name for myself at the tender age of 14 in Norkem Park High.

“People knew me as a dancer with the moves. Later in high school, I met up with Mabine Maila and Gift Mothotse (DJ Bloc) and we formed our dance crew called Kinesics.

“I landed my debut role as a super hero in the TV series called Jongo that aired on B.E.T and Etv.

“From there, I was the choreographer for The Voice SA, Nigeria and Francophone,” said Pacou.

“What I like about my job is that I am constantly creating and meeting new people.”
