Local rapper hosts show on Caxton Radio

Local hip hop rapper hopes to inspire others after landing community radio role.

Local rapper Martin Kekana, who goes by the stage name Numi, wants to become a household name in the radio industry and is moving closer to accomplishing his goal after landing a show at Caxton Radio.

The hip-hop artist is the new presenter of The Eardrum Extra Loud Show every Saturday 2pm to 6pm.

Numi aims to make an impact by informing and entertaining listeners through his style, knowledge, and influential opinions on topics that matter most.

“This is a calling. My childhood friends and I planned our careers at a young age without realising it while other children played hide and seek. I would pretend to be a radio host even when I was young.

“I’m passionate about reaching out to legends of our industry. I like being behind the microphone whether rapping, singing or being a radio host. I also enjoy producing content.

“I am passionate about my craft to the point where I needed to go full circle with it.

“The advice I would give to someone wanting to enter radio is to study this industry and know it like the palm of your hand. Be real to yourself from day one,” said Kekana.
