Chaos: Krugersdorp Post Office workers on strike

Industrial dispute results in strike action at post office.

A photo showing mail items scattered on the ground outside Krugersdorp Post Office has been doing the rounds on social media.

The photo tells the story of all the chaos that goes with yet another postal strike, leaving residents hot under the collar.

Missing bills, letters from aboard, medical and personal information and study material among other items once again either will not reach their relevant recipients or be delivered much later or even too late.

The Krugersdorp Post Office posted an official notice that an industrial dispute resulted in strike action.

The notice reads that head office is working on a solution to the most urgent postal dilemma with regard to the students’ examination confirmation letters.

“Once concluded information pertaining will be forwarded,” the notice states.

The Communications Division of the South African Post Office has committed to releasing a more detailed statement to the news, answering questions about tracking mail items and when the strike will end.
