Wentworth Park saw a second robber shot last night, 17 September, after he attempted to break into a man’s home.
Members of Sector 4’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) responded to two gunshots close to midnight last night. They found the homeowner, a gun lying on the ground and the suspected robber with a head shot and hip shot wound.
Before the gunshots were heard, the homeowner found three suspects attempting to break into his home and decided to take action – climbing onto his roof where he faced one burglar.
In a scuffle for control over the firearm, the two gunshots went off. The other two burglars decided to make a run for it and escaped the scene.
Members of the community, the police and ER24 paramedics were also on scene.
This is the fourth break-in and second robber shot in the area within the past week.
CPF Sector 4 warns residents of Wentworth Park to be extra vigilant after this spike in burglaries during the week.
