An 18-year-old was arrested in Magaliesburg after he allegedly tried to kill his mother and assaulted his uncle.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his mother and assaulting his uncle in their home in Magaliesburg.
He was arrested on 15 September.
“The suspect poured paraffin over the house, wanting to burn it to the ground,” Constable Rebecca Phithi, police spokesperson said.
According to the mother, her son demanded expensive devices and clothing. He allegedly is not willing to go to school.
The suspect had left school after completing Grade 10 as his mother could not support him financially any longer – she is unemployed and a single parent.
Phithi warned parents to refrain from trying to buy their children’s love.
“Things eventually could get out of hand,” she said.
The suspect will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistartes’ Court soon, facing charges of domestic violence.
