Bingo! Join the News by playing for a worthy cause

The club also urges businesses and local institutions to take part in the evening's festivities.

Have you always wanted to shout out the word “Bingo”? Well, now you can!

Join the Rotary Club of Krugersdorp and the News in a fun-filled evening of Bingo on 27 May at Krugersdorp High School … it’s all in the name of charity.

The Club, which has been “in service above self” (Rotary’s motto), for the past 75 years, and its sister club, the Rotary Anns, are hosting a bingo evening to raise funds for well-deserving charities in the Krugersdorp area.

“To make the evening a success, we need prizes for the winners in each game played, and also for lucky draws. We are therefore asking the community to support us in this worthwhile project, by donating a cash prize, goods or even a stay-over at their accommodation establishment,” said Dehlia van Staden from the Rotary Anns.

The club also urges businesses and local institutions to take part in the evening’s festivities by buying a table for R1 000 (R100 per person for a table of 10). Each person will receive four tickets to play.

“It is going to be a fantastic evening of amazing entertainment. Pack a picnic basket with your own eats and drinks and come and enjoy it with us while we raise funds for worthy organisations in Krugersdorp.”

The News team would like to thank the principal of Laerskool Krugersdorp-Noord, Charles Miller, for donating R1 000 to the News team to use as their entry fee.

“We approached Noordskool with an idea for raising the R1 000 for the bingo evening, but we were blown away when the principal handed us a cheque for the funds without hesitation. It warms our hearts to know we can always count on Noordskool for support. Thanks, Charles,” News Editor Janine Viljoen said.

If you would like to sponsor a prize for the evening or enter a team, contact Dehlia on 011 953 3727 for further details.
