AfriForum Krugersdorp has launched a petition to try and help the town’s community.
AfriForum, a non-profit organisation not driven by political forces, would like to contribute towards the improvement of Krugersdorp.
They have received a few complaints from the public with regard to their Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) water and electricity bills.
There have been complaints of incorrect billing, payments not allocated to the payers’ accounts and reconnection fees that were never reversed. Some residents have had their electricity cut off owing to inaccurate billing, and have been battling to have these errors rectified.
AfriForum is inviting the community to share their problems with them to enable them to determine the correct plan of action to have the issues resolved.
When the News phoned the MCLM accounts office in an attempt to find out whether or not they are working on the problem, the journalist was told to contact Tebogo Malekutu on 011 951 2157, who is yet to answer his phone.
The News is also still waiting for comment from the MCLM spokesperson, Nkosana Zali.
