Church parking lot used as taxi rank
Parking lot used as a picnic space by taxi drivers, causing a headache for Mogale City.
An illegal and temporary taxi rank has become a headache for Mogale City Traffic Department (MCTD) after a handful of pupils have been caught bunking there.

The illegal rank that operates on weekdays opposite the church at the corner of Viljoen Street and Van Riebeeck Road, pose a threat as all sorts of illegal activities are taking place there.
Loud music, littering and even cooking are some of the concerns related to the temporary rank on school days.

Other issues include the bad behaviour of the drivers who smoke and drink in public, and influence pupils to bunk school to spend time with them.
MCTD officials are concerned that the parking area of the church is being used as a picnic spot where pupils laze away the time they are supposed to spend at school.
“As the MCTD we are not going to tolerate people using open parking lots as picnic spots without permission. Our promise to these people is that we will do our jobs and charge them as we have been doing this in the past,” said MCTD spokesperson, Papi Motaung.
