Mogale City condemns invasion of land

The Mogale City Municipality has responded to recent land invasions in Munsieville.

The Mogale City Local Municipality has condemned the recent land invasions in Munsieville.

The municipality says there are programmes aimed at addressing land alienation which include a recent land audit that enables the municipality to apportion land for residential, business, social amenities, and places of worship, among other things.

“Therefore it is unacceptable that so soon after the local government elections, which were declared free and fair, an atmosphere of instability should descend upon the city,” said a statement from the municipality.

The municipality also says that should the environment be endangered by political motives, it would be foolhardy for any political party to attempt to seek mileage or profit from instability and anarchy in the city.

The municipality has instructed its Public Safety Department to work with the Police to deal decisively with the situation before it gets out of control.
