“I held her hand and watched her die”

An eye-witness account of the collision on Robert Broom Drive which left motorists stunned.

A woman died in a car crash on Robert Broom Drive and 22-year-old Kyla Cristie Parker was there when she drew her last breath.

At 7am on 1 June, Parker witnessed a horrific collision take place right in front of her. She spoke to the News exclusively about that fateful morning.

“I held her hand and watched her die,” said Parker. “I couldn’t do anything. I just sat there and held her hand. We couldn’t unlock her phone to get an emergency contact. She couldn’t speak. So we called an ambulance and just sat there and waited.”

The woman who was with Kyla contacted an ambulance moments after the collision happened.
