Man stabs girlfriend to death

Police expressed their sadness regarding this killing, especially during the 16 Days of Activism against child and woman abuse.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on 3 December for stabbing his girlfriend to death six days before.

According to a police report, he stabbed her several times with an unknown object in the presence of the couple’s young child.

The man then fled the scene. However, during the woman’s funeral, police were informed that the man was spotted among the mourners. Police arrested him shortly thereafter.

Magaliesburg Police spokesperson, Constable Rebecca Phithi, expressed her sadness regarding this killing, especially during the 16 Days of Activism against child and woman abuse.

“We are very sad that people are not taking this seriously enough.”

The man is set to appear in court soon.
