Local drug dealer abducts woman – tries to rape her

She spent two nights at his home against her will.

A 28-year-old alleged drug-dealer was arrested in Zulu Jump, Kagiso late last year, after he abducted a client and tried to rape her.

The woman said she went to the dealer to buy drugs, but the dealer prevented her from leaving his premises. Instead, he assaulted her and demanded sexual favours.

He locked the doors of his residence with her inside, but she still refused to have intercourse with him. She spent two nights at his home against her will. Then on Sunday, 28 December, the dealer’s friend demanded the keys to open the door as he was leaving. He then set her free.

The woman laid a charge at the Kagiso Police Station.

“The police launched an investigation and a manhunt for the suspect,” said Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police.

“He was on the run until a joint intelligence driven operation stopped him. He was cornered at his home and arrested.

A case docket of abduction was opened at the Kagiso Police Station and the suspect formally charged. He is expected to appear briefly in court soon.”
