Couple shot on farm for a wallet and cellphones

The officers believe the modus operandi is the same as the previous incidents that happened in Clinic Road and the surrounding areas.

A man and his wife nearly lost their lives when three robbers shot them in their cottage on a farm on Driefontein Road in Muldersdrift on Thursday, 1 February. The man was shot in the upper arm and the woman in her stomach.

The attackers fled the scene with two cellphones and a wallet. Drift Reaction, a local security company was the first to send officers to the scene.

They believe the modus operandi is the same as the one that was followed during previous incidents on Clinic Road and surrounding areas.

Although the local police have denied claims of a so-called nyaope gang operating in the area, Drift Reaction’s management still attribute this incident to the gang because there were so many similarities to the previous incidents.

Emergency services were called to the scene and both victims were treated before being transported to hospital for further medical attention. Both were in a stable condition.
