[BREAKING NEWS] Patient allegedly raped by doctor at well-known local hospital

She was feeling ill and when the doctor examined her he allegedly raped her.

The Krugersdorp Police have launched an investigation after a patient at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital reported that she was allegedly raped by one of the doctors.

Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police, said on Monday, 19 February at approximately 11am the patient went to the doctor at the hospital because she was feeling ill.

“The doctor allegedly then raped her while examining her,” said Mashale.

The patient is 24-years-old.

A case of rape was opened at the Krugersdorp Police Station and was transferred to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Investigations Unit in Krugersdorp for further investigation.

No arrests had been made at the time of publishing this article.

The hospital was contacted and the News is awaiting their response.

Jack Bloom, DA Gauteng Shadow Health MEC, expressed his concern and disgust and commended the Gauteng Health Department for acting swiftly to stop the services of this doctor so that no other patient is at risk from him.

“Police should arrest him soon and ensure that this case gets to court as soon as possible,” Bloom said.
