West Rand Flying Squad members arrested four suspects for common robbery on Friday, 23 February.
Krugersdorp Police reported that the victim was inside a well-known bank when she noticed a bag of money on the ground next to her. While still in shock because of the strange sight, a woman approached her and asked if she knew who the money belonged to, to which she said she had no idea.

The woman suggested that they take the money and share it between them.
She agreed and they left the bank to meet up later. Later she climbed into a Toyota Conquest occupied by several men, who instructed her to leave all her belongings in the vehicle – including the money in the bag – and dropped her off in a nearby town.
The woman informed the police about the incident and the Flying Squad was deployed. They managed to arrest the three men and the woman for common robbery. The suspects are between the ages of 36 and 66 years.
“Community members are urged to be vigilant when out shopping, especially when having money on them. Don’t fall victim to this kind of scam. Never trust people you don’t know,” said the Krugersdorp Police station commander, Brigadier Mashao.
He applauded the members for their swift reaction and arresting the suspects.
