Alleged rape suspect sought by local police

The father of the victim said his daughter was playing with a number of other children and when he couldn't see her, he started to get worried.

According to local police spokesperson, Tshepiso Mashele, a case of rape was opened after an under-age girl was allegedly raped by a man unknown to her.

On Sunday, 25 February at about 1pm the 12-year-old victim was playing outside with her friends. The father of the victim said that his daughter was playing with a number of other children, but when couldn’t see her, he started to get worried.

He subsequently approached the children and asked where his daughter was. They explained that she had left with a male they did not know. She arrived home later that day and informed her father that she had been raped by the suspect.

A case of rape was opened and is currently being investigated.
