“Upon arrival at the given address, the members discovered a bloody scene. The victim and the suspect were both found on the premises. The victim was reluctant to lay a criminal charge against her boyfriend, therefore the police members took it upon themselves to arrest him.”

It is alleged that the victim was turned into a punching bag throughout the night. Police members are mandated to open cases of domestic violence if they are confronted with cases such as these.

Lieutenant Colonel Christinah Tsoaedi, the station commander at the Tarlton Police welcomed the arrest and applauded the members for protecting the rights of the victim.

“At no stage shall we tolerate lawlessness. We will ensure that those who violate the rights of women and children will face the full might of the law,” said Tsoaedi.
