Stock-stealing employees caught red-handed
The manager received a tip-off that employees stole liquor worth R27 500 and watched video footage of them taking the stock.
Police arrested 10 employees and various security officers at a local manufacturer after they allegedly stole stock from their workplace.
Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police, said the company’s manager allegedly received an anonymous tip-off about the theft of stock at his workplace.

“He followed up on the information and inspected video footage of the premises. The footage showed motor vehicles entering and leaving company premises without proper access control being followed.”
He further noticed his security officers loading masses of liquor worth about R27 500 onto those vehicles. He reported the matter to the Kagiso Police and all the suspects, aged between 29 and 41, were arrested at their workplace and detained at the Kagiso Police station.
A case docket was opened at the police station and the suspects are facing charges of theft. They will appear briefly in court soon.
