Kagiso burglars caught
On 28 September, the Kagiso Police arrested two suspects, aged 28 and 30, for alleged house breaking and theft, in central Kagiso.
According to a Kagiso resident, she left her home at about 8am on 26 September and only returned at 3pm. She had hidden her front door key where only her son could find it.
When her son arrived home however, he could not find the key. A neighbour informed him that he had seen someone leaving the premises with a bag earlier that day.

When the woman returned she noticed the house was locked and subsequently forced her way inside. According to the woman someone took her five Sansui speakers and a pair of expensive takkies.
The matter was reported to the police and a suspect was traced and eventually apprehended. He indicated to the police who his accomplice was and both suspects were detained at the Kagiso Police Station. A case docket for house breaking and theft has been opened. Both suspects will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
According to Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police, residential burglary is a crime that haunts the residents of Kagiso.
He said that some residents choose not to report these crimes to the police but rather take matters into their own hands. Despite this setback, the police have shown improvement in arresting and convicting perpetrators of these crimes.
