Good detective work ensure 20-year sentence

Fabito Sithole will spend the next 20 years behind bars after he was found guilty of possessing an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen goods.

The 33-year-old Fabito Sithole will spend the next 20 years behind bars after he was found guilty of possessing an unlicensed firearm and stolen goods.

Sithole was apprehended by the Muldersdrift Police and when they processed his fingerprints it was discovered that he was wanted for other crimes as well.

Sithole was a suspect in a house robbery that took place in Driefontein, Muldersdrift on 26 September 2014. A 27-year-old man was hit over the head with a firearm and his house was then robbed.

He was also alleged to have perpetrated a housebreaking and theft in Rietfontein, Muldersdrift on 12 November 2014. In this case goods to the value of R36 800 were stolen from the victim’s house while he was away.

The Kagiso Magistrates’ Court concluded on 26 September that Sithole be sentenced to 15 years for house robbery and five years for housebreaking and theft.

Spokesperson for the Muldersdrift Police, Constable Slindile Ntuli said, through hard work and dedication from the investigating officer, detective Constable Mncedisi Bambiso, the accused was convicted and sentenced to 20 years behind bars in total.

According to her the Muldersdrift Police Station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mankontsho Setlhare applauded the constable for his good work.
